Live playthrough of the fast action dice rolling Kickstarter game Star Fighters Rapid Fire by Alley Cat Games. Back Star Fighters on Kickstarter . About Star Fighters: Rapid Fire combines the excitement of real-time dice rolling with tactical starship combat. Each player hops into the cockpit of their own starfighter and duels it out in a dog fight to prove who is the superior pilot. The game plays in multiple modes 1 vs 1, 3 player free-for-all, 2 vs 2, or a solo mode where a single starfighter attacks an orbital space station. In the real-time phase all players roll and re-roll their command dice simultaneously, and assign them to the various functions of their starfighter. When a player has fully charged systems and is ready to act they may end the real-time phase by hitting the big red button and yelling, “Fire!” This means all players must cease rolling and allocating dice and move to the tactical phase. In the tactical phase players then alternate activating the systems they hav

Commissary: Nicorette Overage is Back Again!

Posted: 04 Feb 2012 09:56 AM PST

For those of you that were excited to get in on the hot $7.86 Nicorette overage deal at the Commissary, there is hope left! Apparantly, GlaxcoSmithKline reversed their decision about allowing the overage (after first claiming the coupon was worded wrong once they realized all the overage they had to pay), and is now allowing the coupon to be used as it was stated …

Read the Facebook Post from DeCA HERE.

My Rant:

I can’t believe that this even happened in the first place. I think that any time a coupon comes out and says one thing, that companies should stand behind it the first time. After all, they go through proof how many times?  Surely someone would have caught it if it was worded incorrectly. I think that perhaps what really happened was they didn’t want to pay all the overage to the couponers when they realized what had happened. And then perhaps the legal issues started to arise and they were like, “Well, maybe we should honor this afterall and learn from our mistake”… so in any case, GlaxcoSmithKline is honoring the overage and the original coupon … until tomorrow 2/5. That’s when it expires.

Pinterest: DIY Homemade Essential Oil Air Fresheners!

Posted: 04 Feb 2012 08:19 AM PST

what i found on

I love a house that smells of apples, cinnamon, cookies, vanilla … but store-bought air fresheners can be pricey. So I was thrilled when I saw this on Pinterest: Homemade Essential Oil Air Fresheners!

Here is what you need to get started:

  • 1 ounce, weight Unsweetened, Unflavored Gelatin (equivalent To 4 Envelopes Of Knox Powdered Gelatin)
  • 2 cups Cold Water, Divided
  • 1 Tablespoon Salt (or A Splash Of Vodka- To Deter Mold Growth)
  • 20 drops To 30 Drops Essential Oil
  • OPTIONAL: Food Coloring To Tint The Air Fresheners
  • Disposable Chopsticks Or Skewers To Stir The Hot Gelatin Mixture In The Jars
  • Decorative Heat-proof Jars To Hold The Gelatin Mixture

How to make them:

Bring one cup of water to a boil in a small saucepan. Sprinkle the gelatin over the boiling water and whisk until smooth and all the gelatin is dissolved. Add the salt and the second cup of cold water and whisk. Set aside.

Add the desired amount of essential oil and food coloring, if using, to the jar(s). Quickly pour the hot liquid gelatin over the essential oil and food coloring. Stir until evenly colored.

Allow to cool, uncovered on a heat-proof surface. When it reaches room temperature, place wherever you want a lovely scent.

Sweet Basil and Lemon Air Freshener

* 20 drops Sweet Basil essential oil
* 8 drops Lemon essential oil

Rosemary Orange Air Freshener

* 25 drops Sweet Orange essential oil
* 5 drops Rosemary essential oil (the rosemary essential oil is mighty strong stuff—keep a light hand with this!)

Fresh Pine Scent Air Freshener (mmmmmm, Christmas!)

* 25 drops Fir Pine essential oil
* 3 drops Lemon essential oil
* 2 drops Sweet Orange essential oil
* 1 drop Bergamot essential oil

Pure Lavender Air Freshener

* 30 drops of Lavender essential oil

Essence of Provençe Air Freshener

* 20 drops Lavender essential oil
* 5 drops Thyme essential oil
* 2 drops Lemon essential oil

Now, while I don’t mind the above scents, I’d prefer pumpkin, cinnamon, vanilla, so I would assume that if you have those scented oils you can create those fragrances as well!  Way cheaper than buying these scented-fresheners at the store!
