Did you know that you can get your credit score for FREE every month? As in, no program to enroll in, no credit card number to give out, nothing! You can sign up with Credit Sesame HERE and get your Experian credit score FREE monhtly! I use this service and love how they email me each month reminding me to check it.
As a previous loan officer, I know how crucial it is to know (and stay on top of) your credit score. Just one late payment can screw everything up, dropping your score hundreds of points even. Plus, I know how critical it is to check your credit report itself on a regular basis to ensure no one has stolen your identity. I’ve had it happen to me, but I got somewhat lucky. I had a credit notification service that notified me when a new account was opened up, so I was able to nip it in the bud ASAP. So I highly recommend that you sign up for this, because even if you don’t get your FREE Credit Report (www.annualcreditreport.com) every year, at least you’ll know something fishy is up if you have this service. You can read more about it here >>
