I was given the opportunity to test out two of the Robby Wash Laundry Balls – both the fuschia (low temps, cold/cool water) and the blue for warm temps (warm/hot water). You only need to use one ball per load, choosing the color that corresponds with what temperature you’re washing at.
I decided to go for the blue Robby Wash ball for my first load – my 1.5 year old had “leaked” through his nighttime diaper onto his sheets – so I thought it would be the perfect time to put Robby to the test. I was pleasantly surprised to find that not only did it get his sheets clean, but also left a light, fresh scent, all the while being hypoallergenic!
For the second test, I wanted to try out the fuschia ball on a load of our colored clothes. I put a large load in along with the ball. Unfortunately, it didn’t seem to leave the clothes smelling as fresh as my son’s sheets, so I decided to try a smaller load (this time, medium). Worked perfectly!
For my last test, I used the fuschia ball for hubby’s ACU’s. Now, we all know how stinky ACU’s can become, no matter how many times they get washed (even by using a high-end laundry detergent). There’s just something about the fabric. While the ball did get his uniforms clean, it didn’t leave too much of a fresh scent. For the redo, I added just half the the liquid laundry detergent I normally would, along with the ball. In cases such as heavily soiled items, it is recommended to use a small amount of regular detergent, along with the colored ball of choice.
Overall, I was happy with the Robby Wash Balls. As long as you are not doing large and heavily soiled loads, it works perfectly. And, if you have any stains, be sure to pre-treat those like normal 
Please note: If you are doing several loads of laundry a day, or once a day, the balls will probably not last the full 12 months – however, they do come with refills, so you are still saving money! Also, if you have an over-sized washing machine, you will need to use two of the same colored balls.
