Military Star Card Holders: Get a $25 Gift Card on Toyland Purchases $99+! Posted: 01 Dec 2011 12:01 PM PST Whoohooo! If you haven’t started your Christmas shopping yet and have a Military Star Card, you may be happy to know that you will receive a $25 Exchange Gift Card on Toyland purchases of $99+ from 12/2 – 12/15! Good for AAFES only. Now, I only suggest this if you pay your balance in full every month. Otherwise, you will have finance charges, and that kind of defeats the purpose of making that extra $25 …Now, I have no clue what the rates are, but that’s how banks make their money – passing on finance charges and fees to the customer. So even a 6.9% APR can be costly over the long run … just my two cents. If you don’t have a Star Card, I would actually highly suggest getting one. Why? I have gotten so many special text offers for $0.20 off per gallon of gas at AAFES, and in this day and age, that really adds up! To make sure you pay your balance off each month, set aside an allowance in a savings account (kind of like a “pre-paid” card for yourself, and then pay the bill in full once you get it.
